Australia’s Northern Territory is a backpacker’s paradise and the perfect place for a working holiday.
There is plenty of work, high demand for skilled and un-skilled workers and job opportunities you just won’t find anywhere else.
A working holiday in the Northern Territory gives visitors the opportunity to experience a lifestyle that's very different from the rest of Australia and the world.
Try cooking, cattle mustering or domestic duties on an outback cattle station; teaching or nursing in a remote Aboriginal community or small outback town; pick mangoes or melons; or tend the bar in a regional roadhouse. If you love the experience, the Northern Territory's status as a regional destination makes it easy to extend your visa by up to 12 months.
To be eligible for a working holiday visa, you must be between 18 and 30, and apply for the visa before your trip. You can usually stay up to 12 months, work for up to six months for any one employer and study for up to four months. If you engage in harvest or 'specified' work, you may be eligible for a 12-month visa extension.
